Fletcher Aluminium has a number of water recycling and reduction programmes underway:
 
  • Recycling of water from our Surface Finishing plants
  • Rain water harvesting
  • Counter cycling of all rinses in our surface finishing operations
  • Computerised monitoring of water consumption to identify water leaks or unusual water use and resolve issues in a timely manner

Our goal is to reduce caustic use by 80% in the next 2 years.  Strict controls mean all chemicals used are fully compliant with HSNO
regulations and Trade Wastes bylaws

  • Our chemical management programme includes:
  • Continuous monitoring and treatment of trade wastes
  • Systems to remove chrome discharges powder coat pre-treatment process to trade wastes
  • Use of environmentally friendly powder coating powders which are free of VOC (volatile organic compounds), TGIC (triglycidyl isocyanurate), lead, cadmium and formaldehyde
  • Removal of waste powder off site for reuse in non aesthetic and low cost applications
